GWCCS is people of all ages, from all walks of life, and from all over the Washington DC to Baltimore metropolitan areas who have come together because of what we have in common – we are surviving cancer. We became survivors at the moment of diagnosis: some of our members have only known of their cancer for weeks, and others have been surviving for more than twenty years. Our goal is to support each other in times of crisis, struggle and celebrate as we share the challenges of survival.

In the greater Washington DC-Baltimore area GWCCS serves as a voice for survivors and survivorship interests. Our concern is with cancer-related issues that affect the quality of our lives, including medical treatment, patient-doctor relationships, family and social life, insurance, employment discrimination, and consumer education.
